Job Description
The role of the Masorti Europe (ME) Projects & Community Coordinator is to manage and develop the activities of the Masorti Movement in Europe. She/he will work together with the Lay Leadership of ME and the Professional Staff of Masorti Olami (based in Jerusalem). The Projects & Community Coordinator will work to build and promote a positive personal relationship with the Masorti European Communities and their Leadership as well as the National Organizations in the Region. Their role is to help facilitate support for established and new communities by fostering inter-community and inter-country activities and programming across Europe.
The ME Projects & Community Coordinator will report to the Chair of ME and to the Executive Director of Masorti Olami, and she/he will work in close coordination with the Masorti Olami European Liaison in Jerusalem.
Responsibilities
• Manage the daily operations and management of ME programming and budget, including fundraising opportunities.
• Develop and run ME programs both online and in person.
• Work with the Board of ME to formulate policies and programs for the Region and support their operations and administration.
• Manage communications for ME, including creating content for ME’s social media channels, website and newsletters, with support from the Jerusalem office.
• Work in cooperation with all of the different branches of the Movement which include Marom (young adults), NOAM (youth), MERCAZ (Zionist arm) and the Masorti European Bet Din.
Skills & Requirements
• Fluent English plus other languages (French, Spanish, Hebrew, etc.) an advantage
• Experience with communities, community work and lay leaders (preferably from Masorti communities)
• Identification with the Masorti/Conservative ideology and values
• Ability to take direction, learn quickly and take initiative
• A self-starter
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Creative, highly organized, and excellent time management skills
• Willingness to travel at least 6 times a year
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
