Director of Latin American Region

Full-Time Position with flexible hours | Start Date: Immediately | Location: Israel or Latin America

Job Description

The Director of Latin American (AmLat) Region provides professional support, knowledge, and experience to the Communities in Latin America, as well as the Masorti AmLat Board of Directors and the rest of the region on behalf of Masorti Olami.

The Regional Director is responsible for the connection between the Masorti Movement around the world and the communities and organizations in AmLat, and vice-versa. The Regional Director reports directly to Masorti Olami in Jerusalem and carries out all the tasks and responsibilities below in close coordination with the leadership of both Masorti Olami and Masorti AmLat.

Responsibilities

• Primary contact with Masorti AmLat communities

• Development of the Masorti AmLat regional network together with the Masorti AmLat and Masorti Olami Leadership

• Development and management of communications and publications for the region

• Development and overseeing of educational content and programming for the region

• Maintains close working relationship with the movement’s branches: Youth (NOAM), Young Adults (Marom), MERCAZ, Latin American Rabbinical Assembly, Chazanim/Cantors Association, and the Seminario Rabinico Latin American Rabbinical Seminary

• Supervising the local regional Masorti AmLat Coordinator

• Promoting the principles and ideologies of the Masorti/Conservative movement

• Collaboration with partner organizations inside and outside the Masorti/Conservative movement

• Top-level budget management

• Travel abroad at least twice a year

Skills & Requirements

• Spanish - mother tongue (required)

• English and Hebrew – Proficient to mother tongue level (required)

• Portuguese – an advantage

• Experience with communities, community work and lay leaders (preferably from Masorti/Conservative communities)

• Identification with the Masorti/Conservative ideology and values

• Ability to take direction and learn quickly

• Team oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to take initiative

• Creative, highly organized, and excellent time management skills

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines

• Willingness to make a long-term commitment to the position
