The Kehilá do Paraná – Jewish Community of Paraná – began its history more than 120 years ago, when, in 1889, the first Jewish immigrants arrived in the state from Europe. The first expression of a formal communal structure dates back to 1913.
Today, the community brings together several Jewish institutions in a single physical space – the Israelite Center of Paraná – organized around three pillars: Education (the Jewish School), Religion (the Synagogue), and Community Life (the Club and other organizations), encompassing around 1,000 families, primarily in Curitiba.
