Masorti Olami is proud to announce the appointment of the respected professional leader and volunteer in an array of nonprofit and communal organizations Margo Gold as its Incoming President.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, in the US, she has served as International President of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ) from 2015 through 2018, and as Vice President of Masorti Olami since 2019. Margo also serves on the Va'ad of the USCJ Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center and is a Delegate of the WZO Va'ad HaPoel Hatzioni. During the installation ceremony that took place in New York City and was attended by representatives of Masorti Olami Board and regional offices, Margo shared: "I feel so privileged to take on this role, helping to connect thousands of Masorti Jews around the world through Masorti Olami, an entity dedicated to support, engage and enrich our communities and connect them to one another."
"I have learned so much in the past years about the varying cultures of our regions and communities – the richness of that tapestry is what makes leadership in Masorti Olami so special. (...) Standing together as Masorti/Conservative Judaism is much on my mind. We need to stand up for our values of inclusion, diversity, and respect.", she added.

Masorti Olami thanks Rabbi Phillip Scheim for his 4 years of service through a very difficult period that eventually changed the way Jewish organizations all over the globe connect with their congregants. The organization appreciates his guidance, dedication, support, vision, and leadership to the organization and the Masorti/Conservative movement worldwide. Executive Director of Masorti and MERCAZ Olami Rabbi Mauricio Balter shared: "Despite the many transitions and challenges that Masorti Olami has faced over the past four years, our international organization continues to thrive and flourish. We cannot take the credit for this, as it is thanks to our invaluable [international] leadership and dedicated staff, led by Rabbi Philip Scheim. He will be missed, but we look forward to continuing our work together and keeping him close."
"At yet another moment of transition, we are honored and proud to welcome Margo Gold as Masorti Olami's new President. We have had the privilege of working closely with Margo over the past few years, and we feel extremely privileged to welcome such a committed and accomplished new leader of our organization. We are thrilled to continue working with her and help bring her vision and passion to light.", said Rabbi Balter.
