On June 5 we celebrate World Environment Day – a day celebrated each year to encourage worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment.
This year we chose to create a resource study page (limud) in different languages, focusing on sustainability and based on the response (teshuva) of the International Rabbinical Assembly’s Committee on Jewish Law and Standards on the subject.
We all have a tremendous responsibility for our world and future generations. We all see climate change and witness the damage we are causing to the environment and nature. Jewish tradition teaches us how to preserve the world we have been given. The International Rabbinical Assembly’s Committee on Jewish Law and Standards refreshes, with a remarkable and an informative answer, the connection between Jewish texts and values at their core and life.
