We are thrilled to share that the campaign we ran in collaboration with current Denver Jewish Day School seniors Maya Friedlander, Mia Wexler, and Megan Coughlan to raise funds for Pesach essentials for our Masorti/Conservative communities in Uganda and Kenya was a huge success.
We would not have been able to provide the support we did to our Abayudaya communities without the support of our donors and friends from around the world, and we want to THANK YOU for continuing to trust us to help our communities. Thanks to your support, we were able to provide 10 communities across Uganda and Kenya with wine and matzot for the holiday.
We also thank Maya and the Denver Jewish Day School seniors' for their initiative and support on this campaign, and look forward to keep working together again in the future.
About the Abayudaya
The Abayudaya (Luganda word for 'People of Judah') community is comprised of over 2,500 members spread among 11 villages and centers across eastern Uganda and northern Kenya.
They live their daily lives committed to traditional Judaism, observing ritual slaughter and kashrut, celebrating Shabbat and holidays, reading Torah on Mondays and Thursdays and engaging in text study on a regular basis.
