One Year After Russia's Invasion of Ukraine

'Family Shabbat' in Munkatch, Ukraine - Bringing together members of our communities all across Ukraine during Hanukkah

Tomorrow, February 24, 2023, marks one year since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Masorti Olami, together with our partners at The Schechter Institutes, continue to closely monitor the situation, and support and assist our Masorti/Conservative community members both within Ukraine and in host countries around the world on a daily basis.

Currently, Ukrainian refugees are still being hosted by our generous communities and friends in Germany, Poland, Czechia, New York, Israel and beyond, and many more have made their journeys to safety, crossing many international borders. Our movement’s effort, led by Tehila Reuben, Deputy Director of Masorti and MERCAZ Olami and Rabbi Irina Gritsevsky, Director of Midreshet Schechter, are extremely vital in supporting our Masorti/Conservative Ukrainian communities and its members through the war and in creating support networks to deal with the aftermath of the war in Ukraine. You can read more about the work we have been able to do since February here.

NOAM Ukraine Winter Activity in Chernivtsi

As we reflect on this difficult year, we want to pause to thank and express our sincerest gratitude to our partners and donors from around the world, who thanks to their incredible support, have enabled us to continue our efforts of relief and support for our Ukrainian Masorti/Conservative communities. Thanks to your donations, we have been able to evacuate hundreds of refugees from Ukraine to safe places and have been able to provide them with everything they may need such as food, medicine, warm clothes, heating, generators, transport, shelter, educational and religious materials, and much more, for those still in Ukraine, and those who fled. In addition, we continue to help thousands of Ukrainians still living all across Ukraine, who continue to need our daily support.

Your continued support is still needed, as the situation in Ukraine continues to worry us all, and as we start to plan for the future. Please consider donating today to our Ukraine Emergency Campaign: masortiolami.org/ukraine-campaign
