We are proud and happy to share exciting news about the launch of the first ever Masorti/Conservative children’s siddur translated into Ukrainian with transliteration: СПІВ СЕРЦЯ (Singing of the Heart).

The joint project led by Rabbi Irina Gritsevsky from Midreshet Schechter; together with TALI, Schechter's Center Educating for Jewish Pluralism; and Masorti Olami, was made possible by the generous support of Betsy Gidwitz - Greenwood Philanthropic Fund and Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries.

СПІВ СЕРЦЯ children's siddur includes illustrations, questions and explanations of the prayers; a special prayer for peace in Ukraine written by the Masorti Movement In Israel at the start of the war in Ukraine, and prayers for the State of Israel, for our soldiers and for the well-being and return of Israel's captured and missing.

Yashar Koach to Rabbi Irina and the entire team that worked tirelessly on the design, translation and editing of this project. This is a tremendous milestone for our movement in Ukraine and around the world, and gives us hope to see the movement in Ukraine growing.

Rabbi Irina Gritsevskaya shared: "It's hard to believe that throughout the long history of the Jews in Ukraine, there was never a siddur in Ukrainian. An incredible job was done by our translator, Lena Grebelnaya. The siddur also contains transliteration and a prayer for Ukraine and a prayer for the State of Israel. The Siddur was edited and printed despite the wars in Ukraine and in Israel".

The second edition of this siddur is already underway and will be made available for distribution when completed.
