In 2010 a small group of families decided to come together to create a Masorti community in the western suburbs of Paris. We are a tolerant, egalitarian and open community, maintaining the balance between tradition and modernity.
We are committed to meeting the diverse needs and expectations of our members: Ashkenazi/Sephardi; Anglophone/Francophone; and an attachment to progressive ideals along with a commitment to traditional Jewish values. We run a range of local activities, which are essential so that our members feel part of a stable, permanent community.
Rabbi Floriane Chinsky received her rabbinical ordination at the Schechter Institute in Jerusalem in 2004. Born in Paris, she began as a rabbi in 2005 at Beth Hillel, the Reform synagogue in Brussels, becoming the first female rabbi in Belgium. She is the founding rabbi of Chir Hadach, the Masorti congregation in Brussels, Belgium, and also provides part-time rabbinical support to Neve Shalom.
