Although our congregation was founded just five years ago in 2003, the conservative movement in Guadalajara has more than forty years shaping the Jewish identity of the local Jews. We have 150 members and even a Sunday School for our kids, and an educational program focused on family education and values: We celebrate the Jewish year together, and once a month our families share a joint class on Parashat haShavua and learn to pray together at a Kabalat Shabbat.
We are also strengthening our Bikur Cholim and Jevra Kadisha groups, while organizing different cultural and social activities for our members. We are absolutely dedicated to Tikkun Olam, helping to heal the needy, creating an ecologic conscience in our environment, taking part of our civic duties in the city, and organizing joint spaces for interfaith encounters. We are more than proud to have a 70% of our families involved in one or more of our weekly activities, and we are committed to keep raising that percentage in order to have a congregation deeply devoted to our ideals of Torah, Avodah and Gemilut Chasadim.
